FAQ

Homeowner Questions

What does it cost compared to a new roof?

Plan on roughly half the cost of a tear-off and replacement for a typical home, sometimes less. There is no tear-off labor, no disposal fees, no dumpster, and the job takes days instead of a week of hammering.

How many years does it add?

The system is warranted for 10 years at the standard build and 15 years at the heavy build. Roofs can be recoated afterward — many owners treat it like exterior painting on a longer cycle.

Can I pick a different roof color?

Yes. The color topcoat comes in multiple stocked roof shades, and custom tints are available. Shifting from a faded brown to a charcoal or weathered-wood tone is one of the most popular reasons people coat.

Can the roof still be walked on afterward?

Yes — the cured film is tougher than the aged shingles underneath it. Normal maintenance traffic, chimney sweeps and satellite installers are all fine.

Does the hail rating matter for insurance?

The coating is UL 2218 Class 4 impact tested, the same top rating as premium impact-resistant shingles. Some insurers offer credits for Class 4 roofs — ask yours, and we will provide the test documentation.

Who applies it — me or a pro?

Either. Handy homeowners handle single-story, walkable roofs with our kit and guide. For steep, tall or complex roofs we will connect you with a trained installer in your area.
